“It doesn’t stop”: Israel Adesanya’s trainer hints at possible UFC return before the end of the year

“It doesn’t stop”: Israel Adesanya’s trainer hints at possible UFC return before the end of the year

Israel Adesanya looked to be in the best shape of his life in his last fight at UFC 305. But despite his good performance, he was unable to defeat Dricus du Plessis and was forced to submit to the crazed South African. Many believe that this will be the end of his career at 35, but the former champion’s trainer has hinted that he will return before the end of the year.

In a recent interview with Combat TV on YouTube, his trainer Eugene Bareman talked about “The Last Stylebender” and his next steps in the company.

“I would say Izzy will fight again this year. It could really take off again this year, it just doesn’t stop.”

The head coach of City Kickboxing believes that not only Izzy, but also other fighters from his gym will return to the Octagon.

Mind you, three of his fighters fought at UFC 305 in Perth, and two of the three emerged victorious.

Adesanya will look to add his name to the winners’ list soon, but for now he has to deal with fans who believe he is faking an injury at UFC 305.

The not so pleasant life of Izzy

Israel Adesanya’s biggest opponent, Alex Pereira, recently spoke out about an injury to the former middleweight champion following his last fight at UFC 305.

The Brazilian believed we saw a weaker version of Adesanya because he didn’t throw his kicks as often.

“Izzy” responded to the post and talked about how well Pereira knows him, as they have studied each other’s fighting styles for years due to their long-standing rivalry.

Needless to say, MMA Twitter, which loves gossip, started speculating about a fake injury for UFC 305.

Izzy, of course, had enough of this nonsense and simply said:

“I just said, ‘He knows my style. Go and touch the grass please…'”

“The Last Stylebender” had to clarify that he did not agree with Pereira’s claim that he was injured. Adesanya had to clarify that because he had claimed before and after the fight that he was in the best shape of his career so an injury claim would have been contradictory!
