Crookston Pirate Girls Tennis beats Pequot Lakes and Park Rapids

The Crookston Pirate girls tennis team defeated Pequot Lakes and Park Rapids at the Park Rapids Triangular on Tuesday.

CROOKSTON VS PEQUOT LAKES –
TThe Crookston Pirates won three singles matches and two doubles matches to beat Pequot Lakes 5-2.
In the first singles, Paige Abrahamson won two hard-fought games with a 7-6 win in the first set and a 6-4 win in the second set.
Emma LaPlante took a clear victory in the third singles match. She lost the first set 6-0, but recovered and won the second set 7-6. In the third set tiebreak, she beat her opponent 10-8.
The first doubles pair of Addie Fee and Kaylie Clauson started slowly, losing the first set 6-2. They came into the game better and won the second set 6-1 before winning the third set tiebreak 10-4.
The Pirates’ fifth victory came in the second doubles, which Ashlyn Bailey and Georgia Sanders won effortlessly 6:1 and 6:3.

CROOKSTON VS PARK RAPIDS –
Crookston won two singles matches and two doubles matches to beat Park Rapids 4-3 in a Section 8A victory.
Crookston used a slightly different lineup in the second match of the day. In the second singles, Paige Abrahamson won her second match of the day, winning comfortably 6-2, 6-1.
Emelia Hoerner won her fourth singles match 6:1, 6:2.
The first doubles team, consisting of Addie Fee and Georgia Sanders, won their match 6-2, 6-4 and the second doubles team, consisting of Ashlyn Bailey and Emma LaPlante, won 6-4, 7-5 and Crookston won the match 4-3.

Crookston improves to 4-0 this year.
