Blue chip talents collide! Myktybek Orolbai vs. Mateusz Rebecki collide at UFC 308

UFC 308, scheduled for October 26, 2024 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, just got even better. As first reported by Full Violence and confirmed by multiple sources, blue chip lightweight prospects Myktybek Orolbai and Matesuz Rebecki will face off in a 155-pound bout.

Orolbai (13-1-1), 26, represents Kyrgyzstan and has won two straight fights in the Octagon. He made his debut at welterweight on short notice, stopping the talented Uros Medic in the second round (watch here). He then largely dominated Chute Boxe’s Elvis Brenner in his second appearances and quickly established himself as one of the up-and-coming lightweight fighters to keep an eye on.

Rebecki, 31, is fresh off his first loss in his UFC career against veteran contender Diego Ferreira. Before that loss, the Polish prospect had compiled an impressive record (19-2) and had three straight wins to start his UFC career. Rebecki, a knockout artist and submission threat, joined the UFC. Contenders Series as an already complete and versatile martial artist.

UFC 308 is shaping up to be one of the best fight formats of the year. In the main event, BMF champion Max Holloway returns to the 145-pound division to challenge Ilia Topuria for featherweight gold. The co-main bout of UFC 308 will hopefully feature Khamzat Chimaev, who will face Robert Whittaker. Elsewhere on the card, heavyweight contenders Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov will rematch, while Magomed Ankalaev looks to secure his long-awaited title shot by defeating Aleksandr Rakic.

It should be an eventful night in Abu Dhabi.
