Google Pixel Wallpaper and Style page gets a new design

Google Pixel Wallpaper and Style page gets a new design

Google appears to be working on a new Wallpaper & Style page for Pixel phones and tablets that reorganizes existing options for a streamlined user interface.

The existing Wallpaper & Style page has been around for the past few Android generations, albeit with a few minor changes over time. It supports changing the wallpaper, customizing system accent colors via Material You, and—still relatively new on Pixel devices—changing the clock style on the lock screen.

However, it seems that this page will be redesigned soon.

The people at Android Authority found a redesign of “Wallpaper & Style” in the works on Pixel in the first QPR1 beta of Android 15. The new design – which isn’t live by default – doesn’t seem to change much in terms of functionality, but rather focuses on a reorganization to help users go through the customization process and find all of their options.

This is actually more than just a new coat of paint, but it seems like a nice evolution of an important part of the experience. Things are a little more clearly labeled and laid out more logically, but still the existing layout looks familiar.

There is no information yet on when this redesign might go live, but with the first update of Android 15 currently in the works, it could arrive in the coming months.

The video below shows the difference between the two layouts (though we point out that it’s much easier to follow what’s going on if you focus on one or the other).
