Pasta for dates with Chef Jonathan

Pasta for dates with Chef Jonathan

Sunrise anchor Samantha Byrd spoke with Chef Jonathan Palacio in the fourth episode of News 11’s cooking segment, which airs exclusively at 6:00 a.m. on Sunrise.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – This week, Chef Jonathan shares his recipe for Date Night Pasta so you and your partner can have a fun and unique date night right at home.

He says that this dish should be made with love, so keep that in mind when you cook it!

Pasta ingredients:

  • unsalted butter
  • Capers
  • Garlic
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • pasta
  • shrimp
  • Parsley
  • Salt & Pepper
  • lemon

Instructions:

  • Start by bringing water to a boil with a generous amount of salt for your pasta.
  • Then, add the homemade noodles to boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes. If you are using processed noodles, you should leave them in for 7 to 10 minutes, depending on the size of the noodles. Drain the noodles and set them aside with some of the pasta water.
  • In a large skillet over high heat, add 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter of your choice and add your shrimp to the pan with a generous layer of salt and pepper. Add 1 tablespoon of capers, half a tablespoon of garlic, and 12 cherries to your sautéed shrimp.
  • After 3 minutes, flip the shrimp and add the drained pasta to the pan. At this point, the pasta should coat everything in the pan and add a little of the pasta water, maybe 2 ounces, to thicken the sauce. Turn the heat to low and finish by adding two sticks of butter and the zest of one lemon.
  • Finally, serve on a plate with chopped parsley and enjoy a nice Date Night Pasta with your loved one.

Ingredients for the Lemon Drop Margarita:

  • Honey
  • Cantaloupe
  • Almave (Amber)
  • Tajin
  • lime
  • fresh basil

Instructions:

  • Squeeze half of your lemon drop melon.
  • Add the juice of 2 squeezed limes and 1 tablespoon of honey.
  • Add the mixture to 5 ounces of Almave (Amber) or your favorite tequila.
  • Shake well and serve in a whiskey glass with ice.
  • Garnish the rim with honey and garnish the tajín with a sprig of basil. And toast to a lovely evening for two.
