AEW All-In Match shortened due to timing issues

AEW All-In Match shortened due to timing issues

A title fight that took place at AEW All In lasted shorter than originally planned due to scheduling issues.

All Elite Wembley returned to Wembley Stadium on August 25th to present its biggest show of the year. As with all events at Wembley Stadium, there is a strict 10pm curfew in place to allow fans to leave the venue at a reasonable time. With 9 matches on the main card, as well as entrances, post-match celebrations and angles, the promotion had a lot to cover in its strict 4 hour runtime. While entrances for the first match took place on the pre-show, time was running out and one match suffered the dreaded time cut as a result.

Speaking of Wrestling Observer RadioBryan Alvarez explained that the TNT Championship Coffin Match between Jack Perry and Darby Allin was the match that was cut by several minutes to ensure it could be completed in time:

“Part of the problem with this game is that the game was shortened by several minutes because, as mentioned, the show had to be over by 10 o’clock. [pm]. And so they went out there. I’m really amazed it took 10 minutes because it felt like 5. They came out and immediately started making glass stains. Darby had thumbtacks taped to his face. They must have had a plan that they didn’t follow through on.”

It should also be noted that the timing of their match would have included the injury time in which Sting returned.

AEW All-In winners changed

In addition to the scheduling issues that affected one of the matches, there were also extenuating circumstances. It was also revealed on the show that an AEW All In match was originally supposed to have different winners.
