Dove partners with aspiring tennis champion Emma Navarro

Dove has partnered with aspiring tennis champion Emma Navarro to help build body confidence in young athletes. She is the latest role model to join Dove’s Body Confident Sport program.

Navarro joined Team Dove ahead of her first match at the biggest US tennis tournament and is the brand’s first official athlete partner to wear the Dove logo on her competition apparel.

Mele Melero, Chief Growth Officer of Dove Personal Care North America, said:

“Since 2004, Dove has worked to empower the next generation with self-esteem-building tools… Sport has the potential to make girls feel empowered and strong, but for many, the sporting environment can damage their self-confidence. That’s why we’re proud to join forces with Emma Navarro in a shared mission to take action for a more equitable future for girls in sport.”

Dove and Navarro will work together to end negative conversations about body image in sports.

Navarro, along with current partners Kylie Kelce and Venus Williams, supports the Body Confident Sport program, a unique, scientifically proven series of online coaching tools developed by Dove and Nike to increase body confidence in 11- to 17-year-old girls.

Through the program, Navarro and Dove provide young athletes and coaches with the tools and resources they need to help the next generation of young athletes succeed.

Navarro commented:

“It’s sad that so many young girls give up sport because they have negative feelings about themselves or their bodies. Sport is such a powerful way to build confidence in both body and mind. I’m excited to be part of the solution with Dove. Together we will continue to create a positive environment for girls in sport where self-esteem takes priority over appearance.”
