Presidential candidates argue over details of the debate

WASHINGTON, DC (WKYT) – Vice President Harris’ campaign is calling for changes in the upcoming presidential debate.

Her team wants both candidates’ microphones to remain unmuted throughout the debate.

“Trump’s advisers prefer to mute the microphone because they do not believe their candidate can act presidential for 90 minutes,” the Harris campaign said in a statement.

Trump says he is open to the change but may not be able to participate in the debate due to disagreements with host broadcaster ABC.

“I was watching ABC FAKE NEWS this morning… and their so-called panel of Trump haters,” Trump said on Truth Social. “… and I’m wondering why I should have the debate against Kamala Harris on this network?”

Trump accepted the muting of the microphone during his CNN debate with President Biden.

The debate is currently scheduled for September 10.
