Investigation into Trump’s shooting continues – ABC23

Investigation into Trump’s shooting continues – ABC23

A group of lawmakers are visiting Butler, Pennsylvania today, nearly six weeks after the assassination attempt on former President Trump.

The bipartisan group wants to see the scene firsthand and investigate further details about the shooting.

“It’s so important that this task force has the opportunity to do what we did here, which is to actually walk this site, look at this area, get a sense of the physical location and see where these security failures took place. And I’ll tell you, for many of us, that raises more questions than we had here, because we see that it’s not a large site, we get a sense of the area and how close these buildings were to the stage that President Trump stood on that day. For all of us, the opportunity to look at this, to walk around and experience it was a really critical step in our investigative process.”

The lawmakers say their main goals are to ensure this does not happen again and to restore confidence in the protection of political candidates.
