The men’s basketball team’s schedule for the 2024-25 season has been set

The University of Toledo men’s basketball program’s 2024-25 schedule is complete with the league office’s release of the 18-game Mid-American Conference schedule. The conference office will release a complete television schedule for the men’s basketball program at a later date, with Saturday games potentially moving to Friday nights.

Season tickets for the men’s basketball program are now on sale. For more information or to purchase season tickets, visit the Rocket Athletic Ticket Office in the Sullivan Athletic Complex at Savage Arena, call 419-530-GOLD (4653), or online at utrockets.com/tix.

The Rockets, the four-time defending MAC champions, open their conference campaign on the road at Western Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 4 and play their first MAC home game against Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Toledo opens its 2024-25 season on Monday, Nov. 4 at Troy and faces Wright State in its first home game on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

The Rockets will face each conference school twice, except Central Michigan, Miami, Northern Illinois and WMU, which they will each play once. UT will host the Chippewas (Jan. 11) and Huskies (Feb. 1) at Savage Arena and visit the Broncos in its conference opener as well as the RedHawks (Feb. 11).

The Rockets’ other conference home games at Savage Arena are against Kent State (January 21), Buffalo (February 4), Ball State (February 18), Bowling Green (February 22), Akron (March 4) and Ohio (March 7).

The MAC tournament will take place March 12-15 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.

Toledo looks to continue its historic run as the only current MAC program to ever win four consecutive league titles. The Rockets return two starters from last year’s squad, which had a 20-12 overall record and a 14-4 league record. Sophomore forward Javan Simmons (12.2 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game) was named MAC Freshman of the Year last season, while sophomore guard Sonny Wilson (8.0 points per game, 2.2 assists per game) was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team.

Toledo also brings experienced transfers Isaiah Adams (12.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in Buffalo), Seth Hubbard (14.1 points, 3.4 rebounds per game in WMU) and Colin O’Rourke (17.5 points, 6.2 rebounds per game in Wisconsin-Parkside) to the team.
