Karnataka Class 10th Final Examination 3 Results Announced

Karnataka Class 10th Final Examination 3 Results Announced

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) announced the results of the third final examination of class 10 on Monday. Despite the award of improvement marks of up to 20%, the pass percentage was only 25.88.

Of the 97,952 students who appeared for the examination, only 25,347 managed to pass it. However, in the annual 2nd examination, the pass rate was 31.02.

A total of 16,764 (24.75%) boys and 8,583 (28.4%) girls passed the 10th grade final examination. Of these, 14,885 (24.85%) come from urban areas and 10,462 (27.49%) from rural areas.

The state government has introduced a system with three annual final examinations for the 10th grade and the 2nd grade PU instead of additional examinations, with the best of the three grades counting as the final grade from the 2023/24 school year.

For this reason, the KSEAB has allowed candidates who failed the first two exams and those who wish to improve their score to take the third exam.

Previously, the KSEAB had granted 20% extra marks to Grade 10 students in Annual 1 and 2 examinations. The same rule has now been applied to Annual 3 examinations. However, the authorities have not disclosed how many students benefited from the extra marks.

However, in the 1st annual examination, the actual result was 54%, but through the normalization process, the examination board was able to increase it to 73.4%. During the normalization process, the minimum scores for obtaining supplementary marks were reduced from 35% to 25% and supplementary marks in all subjects were increased from 10% to 20%. Therefore, around 100,000 students benefited from supplementary marks in this examination.

September 4 is the last date to apply for revaluation and recalculation. August 30 is the last date to apply for a photocopy of the answer sheet, the press release said.
