Leipzig police find drugs and wanted man during apartment search

Leipzig- Two birds with one stone: The Leipzig On Tuesday morning, police searched two apartments in the west of the city for illegal drugs – and at the same time found a wanted man.

According to a police spokeswoman, the investigation against a 47-year-old German was initiated by witnesses. The man is suspected of dealing drugs.

And so, on Tuesday morning at around 9 a.m., the search of two apartments in Calvisiusstrasse in the Altlindenau district was carried out in full.

“Due to further indications that the suspect was in possession of weapons, the Saxony Special Operations Command supported the measure,” said the spokeswoman.

The officers were successful: in addition to various weapon-like objects, small quantities of different drugs were also found and confiscated.

In addition, a 39-year-old man was found in one of the apartments and had an arrest warrant against him. This was immediately executed and the man was taken to a correctional facility.

The investigation is ongoing.
