The Huawei Smartwatch enables 24-hour blood pressure monitoring on the wrist

The HUAWEI WATCH D2 is a new, medically certified smartwatch that enables precise 24-hour blood pressure measurement directly on the wrist.

Equipped with HUAWEI’s new TruSense system, the smartwatch is designed to deliver faster and more accurate results. It is compatible with iOS and Android and can therefore be used by a wide range of users.

Through continuous monitoring, the smartwatch enables automatic detection of blood pressure fluctuations and the risk of high blood pressure. According to Huawei, blood pressure monitoring complies with international guidelines for the treatment of high blood pressure.

The HUAWEI WATCH D2 is the world’s first smartwatch approved as an ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) device. In addition to blood pressure measurement, the watch offers other functions such as ECG analysis, blood oxygen measurement, and monitoring of heart rate, stress level, and skin temperature.

In addition, the HUAWEI WATCH D2 supports over 80 training modes. The watch is comparatively light and available in various design variants. The technical data can be found on the official product page. The price starts at 399 euros go.

For me personally, the watch would not be an option, as I am still happy with my Apple Watch Series 7. However, I have to say that I was very disappointed with the Apple Watch in the 10 series. A medically certified blood pressure measurement on the wrist is long overdue and HUAWEI has once again shown that such a feature is possible.
