Apple Music Classical: Update brings booklets for numerous albums | News

Apple Music Classical: Update brings booklets for numerous albums | News

There are a few differences between Spotify and Apple Music, including Apple Music Classical: Cupertino has its own app for classical music lovers, which gives access to all subscribers of the regular music streaming service. The application promises over 5 million tracks and thousands of exclusive albums. The update to version 2.0 is now available in the App Store, and it aims to score points with one feature in particular: interested parties can now browse through the booklets of numerous new albums.

Booklets for thousands of albums
Apple Music Classical makes it easier to search for classical works by tailoring the entire catalog to the genre. Apple is now offering additional added value with the app: The company is adding over 50,000 album booklets, which provide comprehensive information on the artists and producers, among other things. For example, the biographies of the composers are highlighted and details on conductors and soloists are given. Opera libretti and accompanying texts (“liner notes”) complete the selection. The additional material is accessed after the album has been opened and the book icon in the top right corner has been tapped. A special view allows you to scroll through booklets. Tables of contents provide a quick overview of the structure.

Apple Music Classical: App for many platforms, but Mac is left out
Apple Music Classical is represented in the App Store with a separate app of around 20 megabytes. An iPhone or iPad with iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 is required to download it, and the Vision Pro is also used. Cupertino’s decision not to release the application for the Mac seems a bit strange, especially since the service is also available on Android. Apple Music costs 10.99 euros per month, students pay 5.99 euros and also get access to Apple TV+. The family subscription costs 16.99 euros. The streaming service is also included in Apple One.
