“Chicago Fire” started its 13th season today in the USA on NBC. This time a new chief is taking command of Firehouse 51. What else is in store for the Windy City’s fire department?

Today, Wednesday, September 25th, the 13th season of the US fire brigade series Chicago Fire celebrates its world premiere on NBC.

In it, a new chief takes command of Firehouse 51. Violet (Hanako Greensmith) and Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) work to find out the truth behind a car accident. Cruz (Joe Minoso) keeps an eye on Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Damon (Michael Bradway), who are becoming increasingly close friends.

The new boss in Firehouse 51 from “Chicago Fire” also brings with him a wife that series junkies might know from Private Practice or Shut Eye. This is KaDee Strickland, who will play Monica Pascal, the estranged wife of Dermot Mulroney’s character Chief Dom Pascal, from the 13th season.

Strickland may also have been seen in the second season of Cruel Summer – in the US on Freeform and in Germany on Amazon Prime Video – or in Secrets & Lies (US).

Dom comes to Chicago from Miami, where he has spent the last few years. But he started his career in the Windy City at the Chicago Fire Department. His leadership style will be very different from that of the popular Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker). Will he be able to cope with that?

Walker left the show at the end of season 12. In his farewell episode, his character Boden was promoted to CFD deputy commissioner and then announced that he wants Herrmann (played by David Eigenberg) to replace him with the men and women of the 51st. But first, Herrmann must be promoted to captain and pass the battalion chief exam, so someone else must temporarily fill the vacant position.

Jake Lockett can look forward to more screen time, money and leading actor status. He has been on the show since the eleventh season as firefighter Sam Carver. A love affair has developed between Carver and paramedic Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith).
