WNBA Playoffs: Sun star DeWanna Bonner’s strong message to Caitlin Clark before Game 2

The Connecticut Sun defeated the Indiana fever in Game 1 of the WNBA Playoffsand a big part of the reason was DeWanna Bonner‘s performance in defense against Caitlin Clarkwho didn’t have her best night. Bonner, however, doesn’t take her great night against the AP Rookie of the Year for granted.

Clark ended the game with shooting only 4 of 17 field throwsWhile Clark attributed this in part to her usual missed shots, it’s obvious that Bonner’s defense played a role in her rough night.

“Just game planning, something to do with strategy. They beat us last time, so we had to do something different. That was pretty much it, there was nothing behind it. They have two great guardsso someone has to play defense. It was a big challenge,” SHe said he had to meet both Clark and Kelsey Mitchellwho scored 21 points.

“She’s a great player. I know she’ll be great in the next game.” Bonner added regarding Clark: “So, we have to go back and watch some videos and see what we can do. But yeah, there was nothing behind it. That’s the only way we can win.” she concluded.

Clark is still confident that Fever will win Game 2
