Münsterland: New web app for leisure planning | Kommune21

[25.9.2024] The Münsterland Association and the Hamburg company plazy have jointly developed the web app muensterland.plazy.travel, which offers travelers personalized tips for cycling tours and excursions in Münsterland. The application is based on a short query of interests and provides suitable suggestions without the need for a download.

Travelers in Münsterland can now plan their trips individually using a web app. As the Borken district reports, the new platform muensterland.plazy.travel offers a tailor-made selection of bike tours, sights and excursion destinations, tailored to the user’s personal passion. The app was developed by Münsterland eV in collaboration with the IT company plazy.
After the app has answered four short questions about the user’s interests, the web app then suggests suitable destinations. The data basis comes from the open database of Open Data Germany, which accesses information from regional sources such as the Münsterland data portal and the Data Hub NRW.
Charlotte Seick, who is responsible for tourism data management at Münsterland, particularly emphasizes that the application can be used directly in the browser without downloading anything. The project was made possible by a prize of 10,000 euros that Münsterland won at the “EU DigiTOUR Hackathon”. Plazy co-founder Inka Schmeling describes the functionality of the app as “easy and playful”, with the aim of making travel planning as relaxed as possible. (the)
