American football legend Brett Favre suffers from Parkinson’s disease. The former quarterback revealed this during a testimony about the embezzlement of welfare money in Mississippi. The 54-year-old, who played in the NFL for Atlanta, Green Bay, the New York Jets and Minnesota, is not under investigation. Favre won the Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 1997.

Favre had invested in a biotech company that he hoped would develop a drug to treat concussions. “As you will understand, it is too late for me, I was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s, but it is also a cause that is close to my heart,” said Favre.

The former star quarterback said in 2022 that he estimated he had suffered “thousands” of concussions in his career. However, it is unclear whether his Parkinson’s disease has anything to do with his football career.

Favre had paid back over a million dollars in speaking fees after learning that they had been paid with welfare money.
