In one week, the Element Of Crime film “When it gets dark and cold in Berlin” by Charly Hübner will be released in cinemas. The logical follow-up to the podcast “Narcissus and Cacti”, which is well worth listening to, in which Sven Regener and colleagues dissected their truly unique career. Hübner’s film looks behind the music of the Berlin band and documents friendship and a shared attitude to the world that made such a long music career possible. Element Of Crime visited past Berlin concert venues that were important for their artistic path especially for the film. A must for fans of German music history. And of course there is a constant soundtrack anyway.

Speaking of German music history: Even ten years after his death, Udo Jürgens is still an integral part of it. On Friday, “Udo 90” will be released, a compilation with – of course – 90 songs, including the track “Als ich fortging”, which has just been dug out of the archives and which Udo wrote in 1985 for the album “Treibjagd”. On September 30, the exceptional musician would have celebrated his 90th birthday.
