KISD administrator arrested on marijuana charges in Temple | Crime

“Officers identified the driver of the vehicle as Jennifer Washington and noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers ordered the occupants to exit and then searched the vehicle. Officers found 1.9 grams of marijuana inside the vehicle and both occupants were transported to the Bell County Jail without incident,” said Sydney McBride, a public relations coordinator for the Temple Police Department.

This amount of marijuana is less than one ounce and is a misdemeanor.

The traffic stop occurred shortly after 11 p.m.; Washington was no longer listed on the prison’s website on Monday.

In a statement to the Herald late Monday, KISD said Washington was on leave “pending the outcome of the investigation.”

As part of her role at KISD, Washington is “responsible for the oversight of key departments including student services, attendance, discipline and health services.”

Her annual salary at KISD is $139,339.
