What Jr NTR said

During the chat, Jr NTR said, “Too much preparation doesn’t give you a chance to discover yourself. South Indian films (sets) have always been chaotically organised. For example, if the prints have to go out tomorrow, the team still asks for an extra hour because they want to make some edits. The clock is ticking, the prints have to be delivered, but you are still working on the film. You are shooting a crazy sequence tomorrow, but everyone is so relaxed, we don’t prepare at all. We know what to do. I think it is the chaos that brings a high level of organisation and makes us more instinctive as artists.”

“Ayan didn’t know…”

He then added, “I believe in developing spots… when you are there and your actor gives you more than what is written, do you accept it or not? That was the experience I had with Hindi cinema, also because I shot for War, Ayan. [Mukerji] didn’t know what was coming. Because he was trying to get it out of me. Ki ye kaise aane wala hai (How will you do it)? I said, “Ayan, I am very instinctive. Aa jayega! Kuch na kuch aa jayega (It will come out somehow)!” Ayan said, “Kuch na kuch (How)?” He loves preparation and I am the complete opposite. Adi [Aditya Chopra] was there in between and said: ‘It’s okay, I understand!'”

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is set to hit theaters on Independence Day 2025. Kiara Advani also stars in the film. The film is a sequel to the 2019 action thriller War, which starred Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor. Directed by Siddarth Anand, the fast-paced action drama was shaped ₹200 crore within seven days of its release in 2019.
