Conor McGregor announces the result of his doping test and makes a desperate plea to Dana White | UFC | Sport

Conor McGregor has told UFC boss Dana White: “I deserve my fight date” after sharing the result of his drug test on social media. The 36-year-old has not entered the Octagon since July 2021, when he suffered a broken tibia in his loss to Dustin Poirier.

In the three years since then, frequent speculation about a return date has not come to fruition, although it looked as if The Notorious would finally end his exile in June of this year.

It was announced that he would face Michael Chandler in a welterweight bout at UFC 303. However, the fight was canceled just 16 days before the event, with the UFC citing McGregor’s ongoing injury issues as the reason.

During his rehabilitation, McGregor has withdrawn from the USADA drug testing pool, leading to speculation that the former two-weight champion may soon be looking to quit fighting. UFC regulations require athletes to be part of the pool for six months before they can take part in fights.

However, the organization confirmed that the Irishman will re-enter the pool in October 2023. And in a direct request to White, he posted a copy of his latest sample result on X.

An email to McGregor read: “Dear Conor McGregor, we are pleased to inform you that the sample E004244 you provided on September 13, 2024 returned a NEGATIVE laboratory result. Thank you for your contribution in supporting a clean UFC.”

McGregor captioned the photo with a telling comment, writing: “The most tested athlete on the UFC roster x2. I deserve my fight date! #cleanathlete.”
