UFC 307 LIVE: Date, UK start time, fight card and how to watch – Alex Pereira defends his title against surprise opponent

Alex Pereira will defend his light heavyweight title next month at UFC 307 in one of the most competitive MMA fights of the year.

“Poatan” will headline the promotion’s return to Salt Lake City in a surprise showdown with rising contender Khalil Rountree Jr.

The 37-year-old returns to the UFC Octagon for the third and final time this year to face “The War Horse,” who is not ranked in the top five in the 205-pound division but has currently won five fights in a row.

Pereira has successfully defended his belt twice in the last five months, knocking out both Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka.

Elsewhere on the schedule, Raquel Pennington defends her UFC bantamweight title against Juliana Pena in the co-main event.

UFC 307: Date and how to watch it

The event will take place on Saturday, October 5th.

It takes place at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

For fans from the UK, the group stage matches are expected to start at 1am on Sunday morning, with the main rally taking place at 3am.

UFC 307: What was said?

Dana White is not surprised that Pereira wants to return to middleweight after his exploits in Salt Lake City.

Pereira has not competed in the 185-pound division since his knockout by Israel Adesanya at UFC 287 in April 2023.

However, he challenged Dricus du Plessis for a duel after the division champion strangled The Last Stylebender.

“My opinion on [Pereira] “He’s damn mean, that’s my opinion of him,” White said on an episode of his Contender Series earlier this month.

“He wants to go up, he wants to go down. That’s why people love him.”

“These are the kind of fighters that people love. Pereira wants to fight anyone. I love it.”
