Unusual discovery at the “World Cleanup Day” in the surf lake in Laupheim

The divers actually wanted to clear the surf lake in Laupheim of rubbish on World Cleanup Day at the weekend. Instead, they found a revolver, ammunition and a grenade cartridge.

On Friday I wanted to volunteer to look for and remove rubbish at the surf lake in Laupheim during the “World Cleanup Day”. To do this, they dived to the bottom of the lake. They noticed something else: a plastic bag containing several objects, some of which were even dangerous.

Divers find weapons and ammunition in the surf lake in Laupheim

The divers found a non-functional revolver, rusty rifle ammunition of unknown caliber and a grenade cartridge in the bag, according to the police. Carefully but quickly, the divers brought the weapons and ammunition to the surface of the Laupheim surfing lake and then to land. There they informed the police.

Police and bomb disposal service in action

The officers of the Laupheim police confiscated the items. The bomb disposal service obtained the ammunition in order to destroy it safely and properly. According to the police, it is not known where the items came from. Whether an unknown person disposed of them there – and if so, why – remains a secret, at least for now. According to initial findings, however, the revolver is probably a real weapon.
