VfB Stuttgart made a statement in the Bundesliga duel on Sunday evening. This is how the party went in the MHPHArena:

Update from September 22nd, 7:30 p.m.: VfB Stuttgart gave Borussia Dortmund no chance. The Swabians won the Bundesliga duel on Sunday evening with a clear 4:1. The red and whites were already leading in their living room at half-time. Deniz Undav (4th) and Ermedin Demirovic (21st) put Hoeneß’s team in the lead.

In the second half, it was the home team that scored first. Enzo Millot (62′) increased the lead to 3-0. The consolation goal for BVB was scored by former Stuttgart player Serhou Guirassy (75′). There was no reason for Stuttgart to let up. Substitute El Bilal Touré (80′) and Deniz Undav (90’+1) met and made it 5-1.

VfB Stuttgart has had an exciting few days. After a 14-year break, the Swabians played in a Champions League match again on Tuesday (September 17). The German runners-up had to play against the Champions League record winners and defending champions Real Madrid. In the Bernabéu Stadium, the white and reds kept up with the ‘Royals’ for a long time, but in the end Real Madrid prevailed against VfB Stuttgart.

Can VfB Stuttgart continue their winning streak against Borussia Dortmund?

However, Borussia Dortmund had a successful start in the Champions League. The Black and Yellows are playing away against FC Bruges. BVB coach Nuri Sahin showed a lucky hand with his substitutions. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens brought a breath of fresh air into the game. The striker had not been on the field for ten minutes when he scored the 1-0. In the end, Borussia won the game clearly 3-0.
