Latest Insta360 Ace Pro 2 leak suggests release is imminent

We recently reported on the Insta360 Ace Pro 2: a new 8K action camera designed to compete with the new GoPro Hero 13 and DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro from last week. Although Insta360 has remained tight-lipped so far, leaks are starting to pile up – meaning we could be getting closer to an official release date.

Our latest leak comes from @Quadro_News, who has been keeping up with almost all the major DJI, GoPro and Insta360 leaks of late – and gives us another look at the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 in its box:

While this doesn’t necessarily mean the Ace Pro 2’s hour has come, it’s further evidence that the camera is on the way and confirms other reports. The text is harder to read, but confirms a Leica Supper-Summarit-A lens and the front screen. We also get a warning to tighten the lens guard before submerging the camera – Insta360 obviously doesn’t want the Leica glass to get damaged. But beyond that, there’s nothing substantial here.

As such, we are not committing to specific release dates. Insta360 recently teased a new product with a “Be Seen, Be Heard” trailer for a September 24 announcement, but that is likely the Link 2 rather than the Ace Pro 2. This likely means we won’t see the Ace Pro 2 until late September. With that in mind, we are predicting mid-October as the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 release date.

The Ace Pro 2 will need to launch before the end of 2024 to compete with the latest offerings from GoPro and DJI, so if we’re correct about the approaching release date, we won’t have to wait long for a direct message from the company. With 8K video recording and a new dual AI chip system, we’re excited to see what Insta360 brings to the table.
