FA contacts Blackburn Rovers over biting incident

The Montenegrin striker left a bite mark on the Liverpool-loan defender’s neck following a brawl in injury time on Sunday. Beck was sent off for kicking Duane Holmes and was subsequently tackled by Osmajic.

It is believed that the young defender spoke to the referees after the incident, with TV cameras showing Beck attempting to explain his decision to the linesmen before being sent off.

Given the strength of the footage, an investigation by the FA was inevitable and, unsurprisingly, this is what is happening.

According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Rovers have been contacted by the FA for information as they investigate the incident. The club is assisting with the investigation and will provide relevant information within the next 24 hours.

Osmajic will most likely be banned for this incident. Luis Suarez was sidelined for ten games for biting Branislav Ivanovic in 2013. Both John Eustace and Paul Heckingbottom condemned the incident after the game.

The FA are unlikely to make an official statement until the investigation is complete, at which point they will likely charge Osmajic for the incident.
