Women’s tennis publishes fall 2024 schedule

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women’s tennis team announced its fall 2024 schedule on Monday, which includes the River City Tennis Open on Oct. 4-6 and the Conference Masters Qualifying Tournament at Davidson College on Oct. 25-27.

“I am very excited about this year’s schedule,” said the third-year head coach Jacob Dunbar. “We have some great tournaments here in the fall, including our home tournament. It’s always such a positive feeling to be able to compete at home during a part of our season that we don’t often get the opportunity to do.”

The Spiders open the fall schedule on Sept. 14 when the team competes in the ITA Hall of Fame Classic in Williamsburg, Virginia, before traveling to Cary, North Carolina for the ITA All-Americans on Sept. 21. The River City Open, hosted by Richmond at the Westhampton Tennis Complex, is set for Oct. 4-6. The team rounds out October with the ITA Regionals Oct. 17-22 before competing in Conference Masters Qualifying on Oct. 25-27. The Spiders close out the fall schedule with the Liberty Hidden Dual Nov. 1-3 and finally the Conference Masters on Nov. 7.

“The whole schedule will give us the extra strength we need to continue to move forward and challenge our team,” Dunbar said. “We have a really talented group and I’m excited to see what they can do.”

Dunbar welcomes six players back to Lara Bakhya, Andrea Campodonico, Claire Le Du, Elisabeth Novak, Lainey O’Neil And Lucy Webber to the list. Freshmen Sofia Barbulescu And Abby Lee Join the team for the fall program.
